TERMS
& CONDITIONS
All
artwork sold on www.ParrotJewelry.com is created solely
by Alicia Merritt. Alicia takes great pride in her artwork
and will do her best to fulfill custom orders and special
requests in a timely manner with high quality results. Please
understand that each piece is sculpted to order, just for
you, so there will be variations from the online example
images of various species and your personal order. Your
avian art will be unique!
Please
keep all artwork out of the reach of children and pets.
Products may contain small pieces that could pose a choking
hazard. Our feathered friends are naturally drawn to colorful
jewelry, so please take great care when wearing your jewelry
while handling your pet birds. Alicia cannot and will not
be held liable for any accidents resulting in injury that
involve any products sold on ParrotJewelry.com.
PLACING
AN ORDER
To
place a custom order, fill out the custom
order form. Alicia will reply personally to your order
by email if you have any questions regarding your custom
creation. If Alicia is unable to contact you by email, you
will receive a phone call to the number you provided with
your order. Once all details are finalized or confirmed,
you will receive an email with your invoice attached in
PDF format. If you are unable to view your invoice, please
email Alicia.

order a one-of-a-kind creation already created and in stock,
please see Alicia's Inventory Page
to view items which are ready for immediate shipment. You
can then fill out the order form located on that page.
EMAIL
REFERENCE PHOTOS
Alicia
has a vast library of reference photos for most species,
so photos are not required for most custom orders if your
bird is representative of the "typical" coloration
of the species. However, photos can be helpful if you would
like a rare species that Alicia may not be familiar with,
as well as for various mutations, or for birds with variant
markings such as some amazons, cockatiels and others. In
this case, photos will be helpful in achieving a better
match.
You
are welcome to send or email photos of your birds for quotes
or for reference for Alicia when she creates your custom
order. For sending photos online, please email Alicia first
to notify her that you will be emailing photos, then clearly
note in the subject line: your name, your invoice number
(if you have already ordered) and the species of birds.
If you do not include at least one of these identifying
subjects, your email may be deleted as spam and not read.
Photos can also be mailed through the post to Alicia, and
she is happy to return them to you with your order.
A
few tips on choosing photos:
- Full
bodied side views are helpful for most projects.
- Close
up profile face views are great for charms.
- Lighting
is important! Your bird's colors can look very different
in photos with flash, so try to match the colors in the
photo to your bird's actual colors if you want your artwork
to reflect that.
- The
more photos, the better!
PAYMENT
- WITHIN THE USA
For
domestic orders within the USA, Alicia accepts checks, money
orders and PayPal payments. You can use any major credit
card through Paypal. (See F.A.Q. page
for information about PayPal.) PayPal also allows you to
directly transfer from your bank account, and this takes
approximately 4 days to clear.
You
may choose to send your payment via direct bank wire transfer.
If you would like to use this method, please contact Alicia
first to get specific instructions. An additional charge
of $35.00 will be added to cover bank fees for wire transfers.
If
your payment by check is returned due to insufficient funds,
you will be charged for all bank fees as well as a processing
fee.
PAYMENT
- INTERNATIONAL
All
international payments, regardless of method, must be in
US DOLLARS. Alicia accepts International money orders, PayPal
payments up to $300, and bank wire transfers.
International
orders which total over $300 will be required to be paid
through wire transfer. An additional charge of $35.00 will
be added to cover bank fees for wire transfers. All payments
must clear before any artwork is mailed out.
SALES
TAX
Purchases
shipped within the state of Iowa will be charged 6% sales
tax. Shipping and Sales Tax are calculated and added to
the total order in your invoice.
ORDER
STATUS
To
check on your custom order, please email
Alicia anytime. When inquiring about your order, please
include your name and order description or invoice number.
PACKAGING
Your
special order will be packaged with great care to be well
protected during shipping, as well as to be suitable for
gift giving if you choose. You may have your purchase shipped
to a gift recipient and Alicia is happy to include a special
gift message for you. Please inform Alicia when placing
your order if the item is to be sent as a gift if you would
like the receipt kept out.
Your
jewelry order will be packaged in a white box with decorative
ribbon, and wrapped with protective bubble wrap.
SHIPPING
& DELIVERY TIME - WITHIN THE USA
When
you purchase an item from Alicia's Inventory
of creations in stock, your order will be shipped out
within 1-3 days apon receiving your payment, if not sooner.
You will receive a shipping confirmation via email when
your order has been shipped. Most items are shipped Priority
Mail through the USPS, and take anywhere from 2-6 days to
arrive. Charms and chokers can be shipped via First Class
Mail at the customer's request, which usually takes a few
days longer to arrive. Expedited shipping is available at
customer's request, with UPSP Express Mail starting at $18.50.
Delivery
time for a custom creation will depend on the current line
of orders ahead of yours, and the amount of time it takes
to complete your particular order. Because the majority
of Alicia's Creations are custom, made-to-order original
art pieces, shipping times can vary.
In
addition, Alicia is not liable for any loss or damage during
shipment. If the order has been insured, and arrives damaged
in the mail, the customer will be responsible for making
a claim for reimbursement with the USPS. For this reason,
Alicia recommends purchasing insurance.
Please
notify Alicia if your package does not arrive within a reasonable
time frame or arrives damaged. If possible, take a photo
of the damaged package, and keep all packing materials for
insurance claim purposes.
SHIPPING
& DELIVERY TIME - INTERNATIONAL
Shipping
times outside of the USA can be unpredictable, and Alicia
is unable to estimate any time frame beyond what the USPS
is able to provide as typical guidelines for your country.
Many factors play into the delivery when packages travel
overseas, so please allow plenty of time for your order
if you are ordering from outside of the USA.
In
addition, once a package has been shipped, Alicia is not
liable for any loss or damage during shipment. If the order
has been insured, and arrives damaged, the customer will
be responsible for making a claim for reimbursement with
the USPS. Please notify Alicia if your package does not
arrive within a reasonable time frame or arrives damaged.
PRIVACY
POLICY
Your
security and privacy are of the utmost importance at ParrotJewelry.com.
Information received from you, including your name, email
address, mailing address, and phone number is always kept
confidential. This information is used only for order fulfillment,
billing, and shipping purposes. Your private information
is never shared with anyone else.
RETURNS
& MODIFICATIONS POLICY
Alicia
hand-sculpts every custom order just for you with great
detail to your specific requests. Because of this, custom
items cannot be returned, as they were made exclusively
for the customer.
If
you wish to cancel or modify an order, you can do so at
any time BEFORE Alicia has started sculpting your order.
Your canceled order will be refunded minus 10% for rescheduling
fees.
For
refunds on non-custom items, meaning any item purchased
from Alicia's INVENTORY page,
you may send the item back within 7 days of receiving it
if you are not 100% pleased.
Any
damaged, altered, used/worn items are not eligible for return
or refund.
Original
shipping charges are not refundable. To receive a refund,
please return item(s) in their original jewelry box(s) and
be sure to use an appropriate mailing box with padding to
prevent damage in transit. Please use an insured courier
(USPS Insured, FedEx, UPS) and retain your shipping receipt.
Alicia can not and will not be responsible for item(s) that
you send that are lost or damaged in transit.
All
custom orders are photographed at the time the order is
filled for shipping for insurance purposes, and can be emailed
to the customer upon request. (Please note that once your
order is completed, no changes can be made to the piece.)
